Super Bowl LIX is always one of the biggest nights in advertising, and this year was no exception. With over 120 million viewers tuning in and brands spending a record-breaking $8 million per 30-second spot, the stakes were high. From hilarious celebrity cameos to creative nostalgia plays and lots of flying facial hair, these were our favorite commercials of the night.

Hellmann's – Meg Ryan & Billy Crystal’s Rom-Com Reunion

Hellmann’s tapped into pure nostalgia gold by bringing Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal back together to recreate the legendary When Harry Met Sally diner scene—this time with a mayonnaise-themed twist. The ad was a clever way to link the brand to a universally recognized pop culture moment while keeping humor at the forefront.

Michelob ULTRA – Catherine O’Hara & Willem Dafoe’s Pickleball Hustle

In a year where pickleball continues to dominate the sports landscape, Michelob ULTRA leaned into the trend with an unexpected duo—Catherine O’Hara and Willem Dafoe—starring in a hilarious pickleball con scheme. O’Hara’s sharp comedic timing combined with Dafoe’s intense, dramatic flair made this ad an instant classic.

Instacart – The Ultimate Mascot Mashup

What happens when you put Chester Cheetah, the Kool-Aid Man, and Mr. Clean in the same commercial? Instacart made their big game debut this year and gave us the answer in a playful, animated ad that celebrated grocery shopping with beloved brand mascots. It was colorful, chaotic, and full of nostalgic fun—exactly what we expect from a great Super Bowl spot.

Pringles – The Mustache Celebration

Pringles took a simple idea and flew with it: what if celebrities had their mustaches fly away to deliver Pringles? Featuring Adam Brody, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, and Nick Offerman, the ad humorously imagined what these stars would look like without their famous facial hair as their glorious staches fly away. The result? A clever and lighthearted way to reinforce the Pringles brand.

Little Caesars - Whoa!

In an eerily similar fashion to Pringles, we also saw facial hair taking flight. The ad features Eugene Levy, who is known for his bushy eyebrows. Little Caesars is definitely raising eyebrows with this one. Flying facial hair must be trendy this year

Bud Light – Post Malone & Shane Gillis Save the Party

Bud Light aimed to regain its footing after a challenging year, and it did so by teaming up Post Malone with comedian Shane Gillis in a hilarious attempt to rescue a painfully dull cul-de-sac party. The teasers leading up to the ad (where they joked about the irony of not actually drinking beer in beer commercials) built anticipation, making the final spot even funnier.

Uber Eats – Matthew McConaughey Conspiracy Theory

Matthew McConaughey played multiple versions of himself in this over-the-top Uber Eats commercial, where he reveals the shocking truth: football was actually invented as a way to sell food. The star-studded cast—featuring Kevin Bacon, Sean Evans, Martha Stewart, Charli XCX, and Greta Gerwig—helped make this one of the most talked-about ads of the night.

Coors Light – “Get a Case of the Mondays”

It happens to all of us; the alarm goes off Monday mornings and the rest of the day feels like a lifetime. Coors does a hilarious job at illustrating slow moving Mondays. “Get a case of the Mondays” by picking up specially marked Coors cases labeled “Mondays.” Featuring a cast of hilariously slow-moving sloths, the ad was creative, relatable, and undeniably funny.

Final Thoughts

This year’s Super Bowl ads followed a familiar formula—big stars, big laughs, and nostalgia-driven storytelling. Humor reigned supreme, with brands using clever casting choices and pop culture throwbacks to capture attention. Whether it was McConaughey rewriting football history or Post Malone saving a party, these commercials delivered entertainment as much as they did marketing.
