Prompt: “Write a blog post describing the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the creative space and how that will revolutionize the design process.” Just kidding … a real human wrote this article, we promise!
As AI rapidly evolves, our in-house designers have been exploring the incredible world of visual image generation and how we can apply it in the advertising industry. We’re going to share their insights on AI’s game-changing potential in the creative design process.
Before we dive in, let us say that though AI has introduced new possibilities, it will never replace authentic human creativity. However, it does have the potential to empower it. Here’s how.
Streamlining Processes
AI can serve as a powerful tool to streamline various design processes, allowing creatives to work more efficiently. Tasks such as repetitive pattern generation, color selection, and font matching can be expedited with the help of AI algorithms. By automating these mundane tasks, designers can allocate more time to focus on the conceptual aspects of their projects. Designers can get back to imagining possibilities and actually creating things they love. This is wonderful given that all those repetitive tasks can actually harm overall work performance and lead to boredom.

Rapid Prototyping
AI-powered design tools enable rapid prototyping, allowing designers to visualize and iterate their ideas quickly. This acceleration in the design process can significantly enhance productivity and agility, which is especially beneficial for projects with tight deadlines.
Thanks to AI image generators like Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, DALL·E 2, and many more, designers can quickly generate visual representations of ideas without hours spent searching for and manipulating imagery.

Sparking Inspiration
Creatives are constantly drawing inspiration from life and exploring the world. AI makes that exploration faster and easier. For example, you can ask an image generator to pull references of Art Deco design, or to show you examples of food packaging from the 1980s. Instead of spending hours searching Google for these reference images, you can prompt an AI tool to do it for you in a matter of seconds.
If you’re looking for more general inspiration, you can stretch the limits of your imagination using AI. Go to the depths of the sea, visit outer space, or travel to a magical place that only exists in your imagination. It all starts with a small prompt. Then in a few seconds, you are seeing a place you’ve only dreamt of come to life.

AI-Infused Typography
We’ve all heard about AI image generators, but have you considered manipulating typography using them? Using AI you can customize, distort, and create expressive typefaces that are entirely unique. You could draw them, but AI tools can help you experiment quickly to find what works.
In Adobe Firefly, we used volcano lava, moss, colorful shaggy fur, holographic snake skin, black and gold dripping paint, popcorn, and chocolate chip cookies to communicate how diverse this AI-infused typography truly is. Do we wish we made actual cookies in the office? Yes. But it took seconds to get this scrumptious letter, and there is always one coworker who will eat all of the cookies before we can get a picture!

As we delve into AI and creative design, one thing is clear — AI is an unstoppable force. It’s how we use it that matters. It can empower us to push the boundaries of our imaginations, speed up ideation, and minimize boring, routine tasks so we can focus on the fun stuff. The possibilities are just beginning.
At Esparza, we believe AI is an ally in creative and design work. How has AI impacted your work? Do you love it or loathe it? Share your thoughts in the comments or on our social channels.
